Independent Component 2

Literal
(a) I, Brandon Zelaya, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(b) I have completed 92.75 hours of work at the American Red Cross
Interpretive
The time that I was at the Red Cross showed me how medicine is used in a hospital setting and how it is used in a more dire setting where it is more of a life and death situation.

Applied
It showed me and helped me answer my E.Q. by giving me a more diverse setting than just the more controlled setting of a normal drug store.

Independent Component 1

Literal
(a) I, Brandon Zelaya, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(b) I have completed 30 extra hours of service learning at the pharmacy I am working at
Interpretive
By completing 30 extra hours I have successfully exposed myself to more of the environment in the pharmacy which has expanded my knowledge on the drugs. I put away drugs which lets me read more about them like what they do and how they work and side effects. It also has shown me that I need to have good customer service skills.
Applied
This has helped me answer my EQ because I now know that I need more than knowledge of drugs to succeed I need good customer service skills or else I won't keep the customer coming back unless I am friendly to them and want them to come back

Independent Component 1 Plan Approval

1) I plan to use a type of training pharmacists use in order to keep private information private and this training is called a H.I.P.P.A. training.
2) I plan to do about 5 hours a week for about 6 weeks as is the duration for a complete H.I.P.P.A.
3) My independent study has everything to do with my topic as it is a mandatory training for all pharmacists before they can even step into the pharmacy.
